Tennis talent in the spotlight at IPT trials in Polokwane

Players of primary and high school levels gave their best efforts during these trials to secure a spot in the IPT, which will be hosted in the new year.

POLOKWANE – Young tennis players from across the province gathered at the Polokwane Tennis Club last weekend, to participate in the Limpopo edition of the 2025 Interprovincial Tournament (IPT).

Players of primary and high school levels gave their best efforts during these trials to secure a spot in the IPT, which will be hosted in the new year.

Tournament director Ernest Faver said the turnout was tremendous and a true testimony that tennis as a sport is not only popular, but also growing in leaps and bounds among younger players.

He also extended a word of gratitude to the Polokwane Municipality for the use of the facilities.

“We are grateful towards the municipality and the tennis club for making the courts available for a tournament of this scale. It means a lot to us and to the players to be able to compete at a facility that is in tip top condition.”
