Mitchell House golf day supports disability centre

Mitchell House and Pathways Polokwane's annual golf day tees off, supporting disability centre and promoting inclusive learning environments.

POLOKWANE – The Mitchell House Parents Association, in partnership with Pathways Polokwane, held their third annual charity golf day at the Polokwane Golf Club on Friday. This well-supported event provided participants with opportunities to network, engage with new and potential clients, and strengthen existing connections.

Enrichment Centre head of phase, Melissa Mostert, said all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Pathways Enrichment Centre, which supports children with severe disabilities on the Mitchell House premises.

“All money raised will be used for bursaries for children whose families need financial assistance for school fees, as well as for the maintenance and refurbishment of old equipment and the purchase of new resources for the centre,” she said.

She said the event’s success relies on the strong partnerships with local businesses and golfers and that Mitchell House is proud to collaborate with companies that share their mission to support children with disabilities.

Pathways Polokwane, a registered non-profit established in 1998, provides financial and educational support for children with disabilities.

Run by a dedicated committee of parents and community members, Pathways has fostered inclusive learning environments for both children with disabilities and typically developing children, helping each learner reach their unique potential.

Over the past 23 years, Pathways and the Enrichment Centre have offered hope and support to countless families by creating individualised education plans to empower learners.

Mitchell House extends its gratitude to the event’s sponsors, including Standard Bank, Itu Golf, Bucan Office Equipment, Mall of the North, Old Mutual, Absa, Doppio Zero, PMR Media and Advertising, The Ranch Resort, Oasis, Greener Tidings, Easy Wash Cleaning Services, Ditsie Business Advisory, and others who made this special day possible.
