Some 77 intellectually impaired learners from nine schools in the province represented Limpopo during the national Age Group Summer Games in Durban recently.

POLOKWANE – Some 77 intellectually impaired learners from nine schools in the province represented Limpopo during the national Age Group Summer Games in Durban recently.

Learners from Fulufhe-lo Special School, Funanani Special School, Phatlapha-dima School, Botlokwa Special School, Benedict and Hope School, Grace and Hope School, Grace and Love School, New Horizon and Thusanang School competed in cricket, table tennis, swimming and hocker, a combination of hockey and soccer.

Five learners from New Horizon School returned with medals and trophies in swimming, hocker and table tennis.

Paris Sadiki won a bronze medal in swimming, Samuel Legodi and Nxobile Sawall both won gold medals in hocker and Salmita Mdluli and Mahlodi Nkadimeng won trophies in table tennis.

Nkadimeng was also selected to be part of the national team that will represent the country in Portugal during the International Championships for People with Down Syndrome from May 22 to 25.
