5 schools shootout action delights
Five schools participated in the School Shootout soccer tournament at Noorderland High School last Wednesday and Thursday.
POLOKWANE – Five schools participated in the School Shootout soccer tournament at Noorderland High School last Wednesday and Thursday.
The schools that competed were Noorderland High School, Taxila Combined School, Westenburg Secondary School, Curro Northern Academy and Tom Naudé Technical High School. Northern Academy won the finals against Noorderland.
The results of the matches were:
• Northern Academy won 2-1 against Taxila.
• Tom Naudé won 3-1 against Westenburg.
• Noorderland won 4-3 against Taxila.
• Noorderland and Tom Naudé ended in a draw and the game had to be decided by penalties. Noorderland won 8-7.
• In the final match, Northern Academy won 2-0 against Noorderland.
Various schools in and around Polokwane are competing in this tournament. The schools are divided into groups of five, and the winners of each group was scheduled to compete in the final today (Thursday).
