SLC cyclists win big at Makhulu 5

Stanford Lake College (SLC) mountain bike cyclists claimed several prizes during the Makhulu 5 Mountain Bike Challenge. See the results here:

POLOKWANE – Stanford Lake College (SLC) mountain bike cyclists claimed several prizes during the Makhulu 5 Mountain Bike Challenge that was held by the Polokwane Pedallers Cycling Club (PPCC) at Mall of the North on Saturday, 13 February.

According to SLC Marketer, Rona McGaffin, this was an early mountain bike session but it gave riders a chance to get an idea of their race readiness ahead of a busy season later in the year.

SLC results:

Paul Dando was the overall winner of the 35 km

Robert Retief finishing second overall. “The times for these two athletes are still unknown,” said McGaffin.

Lara Dando claimed first position in the female youth category after finishing the race in a time of 1:39:45

Robin Lacey finishing second in a time of 2:04:00

Sarah Pogrund scooped first place in the junior female category as she finished the race in a time of 1:44:49

Anke Vaughan finishing second in the same category in a time of 1:47:24

Aidan du Preez finished fourth in a time of 1:30:26 in the junior male category and

Austin Johnson finished fifth in a time of 1:44:49 respectively in the junior male category.

Aidan finished the race in a time of 1:30:26in the same category.
