AWARD-winning musician Joseph "Zozo" Mbiza has been nominated for the South African Traditional Music Awards (Satma)

AWARD-winning musician Joseph “Zozo” Mbiza has been nominated for the South African Traditional Music Awards (Satma), which will be held in East London on October 4 and October 5.
The Zimbabwean-born musician is putting Tshivenda music on the map. He says he is honoured to be nominated as this is a big achievement. “I hope to win an award. My album enjoys a lot of airplay on Phalaphala FM and Vhembe community radio station. “I am happy to be part of the Satma event that celebrates diverse cultural music,” he said. “I am currently recording my volume 15 album and I am working hard in the studio so that it can be brilliant. My fans are my pillar, they make Zozo who he is, they inspire me and give me phenomenal support,” Zozo says.
“I will be competing for the award against Afro-Venda artist Rendani Nemuhuyuni and Sikheli but I hope I will take it this year. I am happy that there are other artists in the Venda category because Tshivenda music must grow.”
Zozo will be performing at the Limpopo Music Festival at the Polokwane rugby fields on November.
