Laughing with Barry a treat
Stand-up comedian, Barry Hilton had residents in stitches on Saturday evening when he performed at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.
POLOKWANE – Stand-up comedian, Barry Hilton had residents in stitches on Saturday evening when he performed at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.
The 57-year-old father of six, a daughter and five sons, confessed he was actually a very shy person.
“I stuttered at school and only had two friends. But I overcame this by writing stutter jokes,” said Barry.
Barry’s wife, Sandy is his manager. “I have been married three times. Sandy and I have been together for seven years and married for five. In all these years, we only had five arguments. I think humour is important in any relationship and we laugh daily. My wife is the most beautiful woman and I love her. She is my inspiration, the best wife and mother and my best friend,” he said. Barry was named this year’s Lifetime Achiever at the third Comics’ Choice Awards nominees function on July 17.
Barry recently returned from Las Vegas, and also performed in Hong Kong, Dubai, Swaziland, on an American cruise ship and four Australian cruise ships.
He is writing a play called Barry Hilton Inside Out, which will be released soon. “I am producing and directing it myself,” he said.
He also wrote a poem and other exciting material which will be released in conjunction with the play.
Barry has a lot of plans for the new year, starting with a trip to Hong Kong in January and working on different cruise ships as well as in Dubai.
