Brothers in dance

Local dancers, Warren Hartmann and his younger brother, Bradley say they could both dance before they could walk.

POLOKWANE – Local dancers, Warren Hartmann and his younger brother, Bradley say they could both dance before they could walk.

“I have loved to dance ever since I can remember. My mother would put me in my walking ring or lean me up against the coffee table and I would just dance,” says Bradley.

The brothers say they would like to one day see their names in lights on Broadway or in dance movies.

In 2009, Bradley performed on SABC2’s SA’s Got Talent. He also participated in the South African Championship of Performing Arts, where he won two gold and one bronze medal and a trophy for the best dancer in his age group.

His achievements continued in 2010 when he received district and provincial colours for dancing with the South African Association of Performing Arts.

Bradley took part in the South African Talent Championship (SATCH) in 2011 and won a silver medal and three double gold medals. He then proceeded to compete in Orlando in the US in January 2012.

This year has also been a good year for Bradley. He again competed in SATCH and after winning gold and three double gold medals, he ended first in the top 10 dancers. He also won the trophies for the best dancer and SATCH category winner. He was again chosen to dance in the US in 2014.

Warren has taken part in many local shows and competitions, winning countless gold medals. He also competed in SATCH this year, where he won one gold medal and one double gold medal and proceeded to also compete in the US in 2014.

“We both enjoy dancing and motivate each other by challenging each other and practising together every single day,” says Warren.

“Warren and Bradley enjoy dancing together as it gives them the opportunity to bond. They support each other and learn from each other,” says their mother Debbie Hartman.

“Dance makes us feel free, when we dance we are in our own world,” says Warren.
