Zahara serves up her new album in city

Meropa Casino and Entertainment World was abuzz on Friday evening when Sama Award winner, Zahara staged a beautiful performance for residents.

Zahara’s performance was part of her Phendula Tour to promote her second album, Phendula, which was released on September 13.

The album features Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Anele and Neliswa (twin sisters from Mnet Idols), Mzwakhe Mbuli, Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki and 2face Idibia.

“Phendula is a prayer to God asking for the eradication of human suffering and hardship. The single Phendula talks about seeking answers from God. A lot is happening from people being victims of crime. There is a lot of poverty and unemployment. All I am saying is that God should answer our prayers,” Zahara said.

Lebogang Mothapo, one of the residents who was at the show, said: “Zahara is a very talented musician. Her music is soulful and beautiful. She sings songs that have meaning in everyone’s lives. I enjoyed her show so much and her new songs are very nice”.
