POLOKWANE – Popular family restaurant Nguni Grill is definitely the place to be on Sundays, with a buffet offering a wide array of mouth-watering dishes including starters, main courses, side dishes and desserts, which customers are more than welcome to dish up from more than once.
Nguni Grill’s Sunday buffet only costs R99,95 per adult, and one child under 12 years per dining adult can eat for free.
Review went to sample Nguni Grill’s delicious spread on Sunday and was spoilt for choice. Several diners opted to have pre-dinner drinks in Nguni Grill’s fully stocked bar area, while others enjoyed a drink at their tables. Even though Sunday is buffet day at Nguni Grill, the regular menu is still available, with attentive and friendly service being provided by the waitrons throughout the meal.
On Sunday diners could choose from eight starters including avo del mar, onion rings and chicken livers. The main course, which was accompanied by a choice of vegetables, included six different dishes such as hake, beef fillet, pizza and lamb roll. Those with a sweet tooth were not neglected and there were five different desserts to choose from including malva pudding and velvet cake.
Diners were able to relax in the calm atmosphere with soothing music playing in the background, and the bar area was also ideally suited for those wishing to round their meal off with a peaceful after-dinner drink.
Children were well entertained throughout their visit to Nguni Grill, with a separate playroom designed especially for them.
Nguni Grill owner, Hannes Willemse, was also on hand, adding a personal touch by enquiring at each table whether everything was satisfactory, and stopping every now and then to have a friendly chat with customers. “Nguni Grill is one of the best family restaurants in the city, and we definitely serve the best food,” Willemse said, when asked for comment on the popularity of his restaurant.
He said Nguni Grill valued its customers, who felt like family to the restaurant personnel. Involvement in the community that the restaurant served was also very important to him, he said. “That is why we decided to establish the annual Nguni races, which have become very popular over the past few years,” Willemse explained.
He added that the restaurant had opened its doors in 2009 and had been doing well ever since. “Nguni Grill has a relaxing atmosphere and while it is ideal for families, it is just as popular with business people, who come in for meals during the week,” he said.
Willemse further said that Nguni Grill became busier by the day, with birthdays, weddings and other functions being hosted regularly. Find out more about Nguni Grill by going to their Facebook page. For more information or to make a booking, contact the restaurant at (015) 296 1790.
