POLOKWANE – The German community in association with the Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 invite this city’s residents to share in the festive spirit of the Oktoberfest on 12 September at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane.
This traditional German beer fest occasion is celebrated worldwide with the one in Polokwane now in its the 36th year.
A few years after the establishment of the Oktoberfest in the city, the organisers started to include live performances from German folk music bands in the programme to give it more of an authentic feel and mood for the festival goers.
As this has been proven a very popular enhancement to the Oktoberfest this year will be no exception with the Speedy Kobak Band coming all the way from Germany to entertain local folk.
Along with the well-known great German hospitality, good food and music, festival goers will be able to enjoy a special deal for R220 per person for entry, including a branded beer mug, first beer on the house as well as dinner.
The festival starts at 19:00.
