Woman’s body found, four arrested

Four suspects are expected to appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court today (Friday) after they were arrested yesterday (Thursday) in connection with the alleged killing of a woman who went missing since last Monday.
Hlayisani Precious Hlongwane’s body was found among vegetation at Nsavulani Village outside Giyani yesterday (Thursday) after a long search by community members and the Police.
“Soon after her disappearance angry community members set at least four houses alight of people who were being accused of the woman’s disappearance. Information received resulted in the arrests of four suspects aged between 33 and 63,” Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said.
He added that a case of arson is also being investigated but no arrests were made yet.
Investigations continue.
