Police in Tzaneen have opened an inquest docket after a 36-year-old man was found in a burning vehicle parked next to an old building at Sapekoe Tea Gardens on the Magoebaskloof road yesterday (Wednesday).
Provincial Police Corporate Communications Head, Motlafela Mojapelo stated that the deceased was an employee at a local bank.
He said the vehicle was reportedly seen entering the Sapekoe premises along the R71 road and moments later was covered in flames. Investigations will determine the cause of the fire and foul play is not suspected at this stage, according to Mojapelo.
The name of the deceased will be released once the next of kin have been informed.
Investigations continue.
