Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club is giving back to their community with their participation in ongoing Mandela Month activities. Their efforts see the club’s former president, Sarel Nong currently on the annual Trek4Mandela expedition to the summit of Kilimanjaro and current club president Johz Mamabolo and 11 club members being part of a customary charity mass motorcycle ride in memory of former President Nelson Mandela in Gauteng on Saturday.
This morning (Monday) Mamabolo posted on a whatsapp group, which he created with the purpose of updating group members on Nong’s progress up the mountain, by referring to Nong having two more days to go and the champagne being on ice. The latest update of an hour ago confirms that the team is two hours away from Kibo, along the Marangu route, as they are making their way to the top in windy conditions.
In the meantime Mamabolo informed Polokwane Observer that members of Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club in Limpopo had participated in the ride by some 130 bikers from World of Yamaha in Sandton to Soweto on Saturday to donate household items and groceries to a shelter for street kids.
