Lexus bolster premium offerings

While most Lexus offerings already come fitted with a variety of premium specifications as standard, the Japanese brand has further bolstered their vehicles in the spirit of the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement.

The models that see improvements for 2020 include the Lexus IS, NX, RC and LS. The IS 350 F Sport now comes standard with a 15-speaker, Mark Levinson sound system, a rear sunshade and a new colour option named, Manganese Luster. The IS 300 Hybrid EX also features the abovementioned additions except for the LED Hi headlamps with adaptive high beam which now also come fitted as standard on the IS 350 F Sport.

Substantial specification additions have been made to the NX, a prominent offering in the Lexus model range. The NX 300 F Sport and NX 300h SE variants now offer High+ Sequential Clearance lamps, as well as LED+ Sequential Rear Combination lamps and a, LED Adaptive High Beam System as standard. Upfront the NX 300h SE also now features headlamps cleaners and headlamp levelling while the rear gets a power-enabled rear boot and the sides, auto re-retractable side mirrors.

Further bolstering the value of the SE hybrid model is wooden dashboard inserts, a panoramic sunroof, a 60:40 split power-adjustable second row of seats, full leather trim as well as driver memory for the front seat.  Included in the update for both models is the Lexus Safety System which comprises of a Pre-crash System, Lane Trace Assist and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Furthermore, the occupants can now enjoy the 17MM+ screen, upgraded from the 17MM screen, and Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility.

A similar theme is found in the Lexus RC sports coupe with the upgraded 17-speaker Mark Levinson Sound System now compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver can also now employ the use of the new electronic parking brake system.

The flagship LS model also underwent some changes to address product improvements and customer requests. These include an All-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control as opposed to the High Speed-only version fitted previously as well as Steering Vibration and Lane Trace Assist being added to the Lane Keep Assist system. The LS 500 will no longer be available in Terrane Khaki and both the LS 500 and LS 500 F Sport variants will also no longer offer Amber in its colour palette.
