What2Watch: This weeks’ worth-the-watch

Here is Review’s rundown of what to stream on Showmax and Netflix this week.

POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Review has put together a list of shows you should stream on your favourite platform.

What to Watch this week on:

Showmax:

Series: Younger

Younger is set in the publishing world of New York City. The cast includes Hilary Duff as Kelsey; Miriam Shor as Diana (sadly mostly absent this season due to the pandemic); and Debi Mazar (Entourage) as Maggie.

Movie: The High Note (from 17 June)

The High Note sees a superstar singer and her overworked personal assistant presented with a choice that could alter the course of their respective careers.

For the kids: The Remarkable Mr. King

Mr. King is a well-meaning little lion whose ‘big thinks’ can cause big tangles. But, if Mr. King tries and fails, he has a think, and tries again to make things right with the help of his forest friends. With charming characters and positive messages, this super sweet animated series is perfect for the littlest little ones.

Netflix:

Series: Metallica: Some Kind of Monster

This collection includes the acclaimed rock documentary about Metallica, plus a film checking in with the still-thriving group 10 years later.

Movie: Awake

After a global event wipes out humanity’s ability to sleep, a troubled ex-soldier fights to save her family as society and her mind spiral into chaos.

For the kids: Wish Dragon

Determined teen Din is longing to reconnect with his childhood best friend when he meets a wish-granting dragon who shows him the magic of possibilities.
