Here is Review’s rundown of what to stream on Showmax and Netflix this week.

POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Review has put together a list of shows you should stream on your favourite platform.

What to Watch this week on:

Showmax:

Series: A Black Lady Sketch Show

A Black Lady Sketch Show is an American television sketch comedy show created by Robin Thede for HBO. The show consists of comedic sketches performed by a main cast of Black women comedians that comprise producer and creator Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, and Gabrielle Dennis

Movie: Joker

Joker centres on Arthur Fleck, a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night… but finds the joke always seems to be on him.

For the kids: Zog and the Flying Doctors 

Based on the beloved book by Julia Donaldson, this BBC animated short follows on from the Emmy-winning Zog, as the young dragon and his flying companions, Princess Doctor Pearl and Sir Gadabout, set off to care for creatures from mermaids to unicorns, and a sneezy lion… until the king gets wind of their shenanigans. 

 

Netflix:

Series: We the People 

Learn the basics of rights and citizenship with upbeat songs by popular artists like Janelle Monáe, H.E.R., Adam Lambert, Brandi Carlile and more.

Movie: 6 Bullets

A former mercenary is lured back into the dangerous business of finding missing children when the daughter of a mixed martial arts champ is kidnapped.

For the kids: Kung Fu Panda

When a powerful villain comes after peace in his valley, a lazy panda rises to the challenge to realize his destiny and become a kung fu warrior.
