Bulls vs Lions u/23 kick off SA Rugby Cup in Polokwane
Exciting rugby in Polokwane! Vodacom Bulls face Emirates Lions u/23, plus youth and women’s matches at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
POLOKWANE – Rugby supporters are looking forward to an afternoon of fun and excitement when the u/23 teams of the Vodacom Bulls and the Emirates Lions will meet at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium in the city next Friday.
Kick-off will be at 18:00 but the gates will already open at 12:00 and tickets will cost R100.
According to the Department of Sport spokesperson Jermina Kaka, the hosting of the event is part of the Mapungubwe programme and will include a game between the Limpopo u/20 and the University of Limpopo women’s teams at 13:00, followed by a match between Noordelikes and University of Limpopo at 15:00.
Limpopo general manager of Limpopo Bulls, Attie Buitendag confirmed that the match between the u/23 Vodacom Bulls and the Emirates Lions is the launching match of the new SA Rugby u/23 Cup competition with teams from the four Vodacom United Rugby Championship franchises – the Bulls, Lions, Sharks, and Stormers – facing off over a double-round of action, home and away.
