What is yellow and lives in the middle of Caledon Street?

No, not Spongebob Squarepants, but a bright yellow barrier from the Department of Water and Sanitation that has been there for weeks now.

The Lekwa Municipality had dug a hole to repair a water leak.

After a water pipe is fixed, the hole has to be left open for a day or two to make sure that it does not leak again.

Only after that can the hole be filled up, which this one has been.

Someone also dumped their tree trimmings behind the barrier.

The municipality could not, at the time of going to press, comment.
