Members of Sector 2 of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) met on Thursday, 16 August to discuss crime in the area.
Mr Alf Claassen, chairman of this sector, thanked AfriForum for fixing sewage leakages in the past few weeks.
He said the CPF wants to help people and is there for everybody.
They need more people to patrol in their sector even if it is only for two or three hours.
“We need eyes and ears and the more vigilant we are, it is more likely that the criminals will stay away,” said Mr Claassen.
He mentioned the burglaries that occurred during over the past month in Voortrekker Street, Goddefroy Street and Rothman Street.

“Sasol offered to send people to patrol Secunda during the shutdown.”
Mr Claassen said the sector now has complaint forms that residents can fill in if they have complaints about the police.
“They can give it to me so we can hand it in at the police station. We also have appraisal forms if people want to thank or honour the police.”
