SECUNDA – The municipal fire brigade and Jelani Security extinguished a fire that erupted in the refuse room on the side of the Sanlam Plaza building in the Secunda CBD on Sunday afternoon, 26 August.
According to workers from Steers, vagrants who smoke Nyopi are often seen smoking in that enclave.
The fire erupted soon after the smokers had left.
The Steers personnel ran with water buckets and a hosepipe to extinguish the fire while they waited for the fire fighters to arrive.
