
SECUNDA – The security guards at various shops in Secunda handed over alleged shoplifters to the police in two separate incidents on Friday, 14 February and one on Sunday, 16 February.
According to Secunda Police spokesman, Capt Gerhard Elmes, the first shoplifter was caught at Checkers in the Secunda Mall for stealing food and wine worth more than R1 400 on Valentine’s Day.
A man was caught stealing two screwdrivers worth R39 from Shoprite in the Secunda CBD that same day.
Stealing socks from Shoprite worth R70, landed another shoplifter in hot water on Sunday.
These cases will all be heard in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court.
