Mayflower Police arrest five gang members in connection with murder

The men allegedly stabbed the owner of a shop with a knife and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and other items.

Mayflower Police arrested five gang members on 25 February in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old man.

The men allegedly stabbed the owner of a shop with a knife and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and other items.

According to Const Tryphinah Utla, spokesman for Mayflower Police, an angry mob traced two of the suspects down.

“The other three suspects handed themselves over to Mayflower Police after they fled from the community members.”

The suspects first appeared in the Mayflower Periodical Court on 26 February and the case was postponed to 29 April for further investigation.
