eMBALENHLE – Police warned the public about the latest scam in which ATM users are targeted.
It is alleged that the suspects will insist on helping vulnerable ATM users.
They allegedly wait for their target to conduct the transaction on the ATM and when the scammers realised that the PIN has been entered, they distract the ATM user.
Police said the culprits will then have access to the ATM user’s information and will do transactions somewhere else.
The police advised ATM users to avoid withdrawing money when they are alone.
