Msukaligwa technicians pull the plug on illegal connections

Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality, said the municipality is concerned that we disconnected in the morning and community connection illegal in evening of the same day.

Technicians of Msukaligwa Municipality recently pulled the plug on illegal connections from an area near Nooitgedacht Farm to a portion of Wesselton.

This followed after a resident noticed cables running from an electricity pole in his yard to some shacks close-by in Wesselton.

The resident thinks that the connections were made during the night because he did not notice any suspicious activities during the day.

He reported it to the police, who directed him to the municipality.

He received a number to call when he went to the municipality, but the number was engaged every time he phoned.

The resident then came to the Highvelder Newspaper where he was assisted with contact details to report illegal connections at the municipality.

According to the resident, technicians came out and it took them a week to disconnect all the illegal connections.

Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality, said the municipality is concerned that although they disconnect the illegal connections in the morning, the community simply re-connect in the evening of the same day.
