According to Mr Micah Mazimbela, principal of Umsebe Primary School, there were two fire incidents that occurred at the school.

The school’s library was allegedly deliberately set on fire on 20 May.

The whole library burned to the ground.

“We placed calls to the Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue services,” Mr Mazimbela said.

He drove from Chrissiesmeer and upon his arrival found fire fighters busy extinguishing the fire.

“Unfortunately, by that time everything was completely incinerated.

The damage to the appliances was estimated at R 250 000.
