Standerton Magistrate’s Court postpones Buhle’s case
Four men will appear again on March 26 in the regional court.

The four men arrested for the murder of Buhlebenkosi Makhanda (20), better known as Buhle, again appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on February 2.
Their case was postponed to March 26 in the regional court in Standerton. Makhanda was murdered in Sakhile on May 31 last year. She was walking with a friend in Sakhile when four armed men approached them.
According to police reports, the men held Makhanda and her friend at gunpoint and robbed them. The men released the friend, but kept Makhanda. Her half-naked body was found near the graveyard the next day.
She had multiple gunshot wounds, and police suspected she had been sexually assaulted. The four men are charged with murder, attempted murder, carjacking, kidnapping, and rape.
During previous court appearances last year, several activists and families demonstrated their anger by marching while holding posters.
They demanded justice for Makhanda’s murder.
