The N17 highway is closed after a serious accident that claimed the life of one person, happened on the highway between Trichardt and Bethal tonight (April 26).

All relevant role players and emergency workers are on the scene to help.

A truck was allegedly turning from one of the mine roads onto the N17 when the vehicle hit him on the side.

The man in the vehicle died and no other injuries were reported.
