Cullinan Police warns of online scams
In the most recent case, the complainant apparently reacted to an online advertisement for a certain vehicle where after he deposited an amount of cash.

Following a number of reported online fraud cases, the Cullinan Police now call for the community to be vigilant.
The reported cases involved online advertisements on social media.

The suspect later contacted the complainant and ordered him to pay in more money. By failure to do so, the vehicle would apparently not be released for collection.
The complainant became suspicious, but lost a substantive amount of money before realising that he was being scammed.
“The public are therefore urged to be extremely vigilant.
“Do not fall into the web of scammers and strangers who use social media to prey on innocent victims,” said Sgt Connie Moganedi, corporate communication officer for the Cullinan Police in a media statement released on Monday, August 1.
