Guild donates to learners in Rooikoppen, Standerton

When going to an annual YMG convention, attendees are expected to bring at least 30 pairs of school shoes for donation.

The Methodist Church Young Men’s Guild (YMG) of the Sakhile section recently visited Shukuma Primary School in Rooikoppen to donate school jerseys and sanitary pads.

Reverend David Khonza and the vice-president of the YMG, Brother Khehla Mbuli, led the guild on the visit.

According to the section secretary, Sibusiso Simelane, the Amadodana (Zulu for YMG) was well received by the principal, Sipho Mngomwzulu, and his teaching staff.

Mbuli shared the word of God, motivated the learners to avoid drug abuse and crime and spoke about children not attending school.

The District Department of Social Responsibility leader, Brother Thanda Khumalo, handed over the items on behalf of the Amadodana.

The principal thanked them and invited the Methodist delegation to tea before they left. Khonza said this was one of the projects done almost every year by the YMG.
