Mr Ben Makola coached pupils who have great potential.
EVANDER – Two rising athletes who are part of the Mpumalanga team, participated in the South African Schools Athletics National Primary Schools Track and Field Championships in Germiston on Saturday, 21 March.
Refilwe Makola (12) and Hado Msiza (12) are pupils from Laerskool Hoëveld and Laerskool Oranjegloed Primary School respectively.
They practiced hard and have shown that nothing stands in their way to compete.
“Participating in SA athletics is an honour.”
Refilwe went through to the semi finals of the 100m and the 150m with a time of 13,26. and 20,45.
Hado also took part in the 100m and the 150m and improved his time in the track championships.
Mr Ben Makola, their coach, approached the Wukta Taxi Association to help these rising athletes to make their dreams a reality by helping with accommodation.
Refilwe and Hado have a bright future and hope to improve by next year.
Mr Makola has shown support from the beginning and will continue to coach them so that they are prepared for next year.
He saw the need of several athletes that do not have basic training to improve their skills on the field and is planning to coach them.
