Mkhize brothers from eMba love playing golf
The Mkhize brothers hope the municipality will provide the youth with a golf course one day.
eMBALENHLE – The Mkhize brothers love golf and would like to have a full kit one day.
Thabiso and Bongani Mkhize practice their golf skills on a football field, because there is no golf course in eMbalenhle.
“I have always loved golf and this year I told myself that I will begin to practise on the football field and I also go to the Walker Park Golf Club in Evander,” said Bongani Mkhize.
“Though our kit is not complete, we use what we have for now,” said his brother.
The brothers said though they love to play golf, they did not know where to begin until someone donated a kit and balls to them.
At times people laugh at them when they play golf on the football field, but that has never discouraged them.
“When we play on this field, we are scared to hit the ball too hard because it might hit passing cars or passersby,” said Thabiso Mkhize who hopes the municipality will provide the youth of eMbalenhle with a golf course one day.
The brothers said there are many young people in eMba who want to play golf, but the problem is that they cannot afford to go to Evander all the time.
Another challenge of going to Walker Park, is that it is difficult to travel in a taxi with the whole kit.
