Teammates face off in snooker open champs in Secunda
Le Roux also played in the longest match that lasted almost four hours against Carl Jonker in the semi-final
SECUNDA – Jacobus le Roux from Secunda emerged as the winner of the first ever Panda’s snooker open championship on Sunday, 4 August.
The tournament was contested over several weeks with 16 players from as far as Durban taking part in this class of cue sport.
Le Roux faced his teammate, Mandi Mente, in the final race to the championship title.
The 24-year-old Mente was leading during the first part of the match, but a more experienced Le Roux (40) eventually caught up and overtook his opponent, beating him 5-4.
Senzo Gumede from Durban clinched the third place.
The highest break was 74.
Le Roux also played in the longest match that lasted almost four hours against Kyle Jonker in the semi-final.
