Diabetes: Roodepoort Lions raise awareness
Get tested for and educated about diabetes with the Lions Club's Roodepoort Host this Saturday.
The Roodepoort Host Lions are planning a diabetes awareness campaign for Saturday 8 March.
As Lesley Cameron, secretary of the Lions Club of Roodepoort Host, explained to the Record today (Monday 3 March), the aim is to raise awareness and assist residents in understanding diabetes.
“We’re offering free diabetes testing and counselling in an effort to educate and support our fellow Roodepoorters,” Cameron said.
The campaign and testing will be hosted at the Checkers Hyper on 14th Avenue, in the shopping centre near the furniture section.
From 9 am til 1 pm residents can get tested for diabetes free of charge, can learn about the causes and consequences and can receive counselling.
