The Roodepoort Police need your help to catch a murderer

According to Captain Juanita Yorke, spokesperson for the Roodepoort Police, the police were unable to link these three individuals to the murder, but they are now considered persons of interest in the case.

On the evening of Saturday, 4 July, a young man was sadly taken from the world too soon when he was murdered in Creswell Park.

Roodepoort Police found the deceased young man at the Miles Stoker Circle, but they cannot disclose the cause of death, nor the man’s age, at risk of hindering the investigation. A group of community members arrived at the Roodepoort Police Station the following day, 5 July, bringing with them three suspects.

According to Captain Juanita Yorke, spokesperson for the Roodepoort Police, the police were unable to link these three individuals to the murder, but they are now considered persons of interest in the case. The Roodepoort Police are doing everything they can to investigate this heinous crime, but need the community’s help. Detectives have asked for anyone who may have more information about the murder to please come forward as soon as possible.

“We understand that residents might be afraid to come forward, but it is imperative that they do,” said Captain Yorke. She added that if anyone with information is afraid to go to the station, arrangements can be made for the officers to meet the person where he or she feels safe.

“All information received from the public will remain confidential. I urge the community to come forward and not take the law into their own hands; it is not only dangerous, but can hinder the investigation,” Yorke concluded.

Information can be given to the detectives by going to the Roodepoort Police Station in person, through the My SAPS mobile app or by calling one of the following numbers:
