Update: Case opened and names of alleged kidnappers known

'Just bring bring the child safely back to her grandmother and grandfather'.

Additional information has been sourced since initial reports of a child kidnapping on the boundary between Wilro Park and Princess on Friday, 25 September.

A case has been opened and a couple are now sought for questioning regarding the disappearance of a two-week-old infant girl named Mikayla Badenhorst.

The infant’s parents are said to have snatched her from her grandparents, that are believed to be the legal custodians of the tiny newborn.

A close family connection to the infant has named the couple in question as Chance Holmes and Bianca Badenhorst. The source is gravely concerned for the little girl and fears a drug related motive for the alleged snatching.

“Just bring the child safely home to her grandmother and grandfather,” she pleaded.

The reportedly court appointed family of the young infant lives in Randfontein and claim to have met the couple along Ontdekkers Road in the belief they were seeking help through a rehabilitation programme.

This may have been a ruse, as the parents of the infant snatched the newborn from her grandmother’s arms and fled into the Princess Informal Settlement where they are believed to have been living.

Police are yet to comment but the case number is known to this publication.

At the time of the incident, the infant is said to have been wearing a khaki, yellow, grey and white babygrow dotted with animal print.

Should any member of the public know of the whereabouts of Chance Holmes or Bianca Badenhorst, they are asked to contact their nearest police station immediately.
