Since the horrific cash-in-transit heist and devastating death of First Help responder, Shane Williams on 30 October, three G4S security guards have been arrested and have had their first court appearance.
The three men aged 25, 28 and 40 were arrested on the same evening of the heist after R3,2 million was recovered from under the seats of the bombed armoured vehicle and from the dustbins on a nearby premises.

Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (HAWKS) stated that the suspects would appear in court on charges of murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of suspected stolen money, perjury, and defeating the ends of justice.
While the HAWKS statement indicated that the suspects would appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane, confirmed that the men had appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 November.

Mjonondwane further confirmed that the matter has been postponed to 11 November for a formal bail hearing. The suspects were remanded in custody, where they will stay until the formal bail hearing.
There has still been no news on the 12 unknown assailants who carried out the heist, but G4S is working with the police on the ongoing investigation, which includes still looking for the assailants.
The police are appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects to call Crime Stop number 086 00 10111 or send tip-offs on the My SAPS app.
