EARTH Centre thanks you for keeping them afloat

The national Covid-19 restrictions saw a lot of changes to the way the centre operated – a change that came with costs to their pockets.

Having overcome trials and tribulations this year, the EARTH Centre in Ruimsig has thanked everyone who supported them to enable them to carry out their work.

“The EARTH Centre has always strived to survive and thrive, and we thank everyone who helped us in 2020. The support enabled us to be ready and able to welcome back the special children that ride at our centre. We remain committed to continue providing therapy horse riding for vulnerable disabled children,” said Julia Morris, the fundraiser.

“These are the children we support, fundraise for, the children who otherwise would not have access to therapy that will benefit them physically, mentally and emotionally,” she added.
The national Covid-19 restrictions saw a lot of changes to the way the centre operated – a change that came with costs to their pockets.

“Our income-generating programmes normally make up 30 per cent of our annual income, which shrunk to around 10 per cent,” Julia explained.

“Determined not to let Covid-19 overwhelm us, we introduced Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) workshops for small groups of people wishing to learn more about themselves, their emotions and life in general,” she described their turnaround strategy.

As they wish for a better 2021, the centre also wished everyone the best festive season and a happy, healthy and successful new year.
