During the roadblock 102 vehicles were stopped and 196 people searched, and crime-awareness pamphlets were handed out to the motorists on the day.

Road safety education, awareness campaigns and law-enforcement operations have been intensified earlier in the month of January as the country is in the midst of its peak travel period.

On Wednesday, 20 January, Honeydew Police, Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF), and tracking and security companies huddled up to address housebreakings and vehicle-related crimes in Weltevreden Park.
