Foundation feeds Fleurhof kids
A local charitable organisation is determined to make a big difference in the Fleurhof community.
The newly-established Le-Amogetswe Foundation has accomplished a lot in the short time of its existence.
They hosted a food and clothing donation drive in one of the poorest communities in Fleurhof on Saturday, March 8, managing to feed and clothe over 100 children in a single morning.
According to founder Andrè Constable, the foundation was created to address widespread shortcomings within Fleurhof communities.
“Myself and two friends, Leefar Blennis and Thabang Makoga, started the foundation after realising the urgent need for the empowerment of the Fleurhof community,” he says, adding that physical donations of food and clothing are but one of the many interventions planned.
“Being from this area, it pained us to see the problems like high unemployment, hunger, limited skills development, and inadequate infrastructure that plague our community, and we decided to do something about it,” he says.

Constable adds that even though the Fleurhof community has many problems, it also has a lot of potential.
“There is so much untapped potential here and we believe that through unity and collaboration, we can create meaningful change where it matters most.
“We decided not to do the typical South African thing and wait for solutions to come, but to create those solutions ourselves.”
Le-Amogetswe, meaning everyone is welcome in Sesotho, reflects their belief in inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment.
By working with businesses, government agencies, and community members, the foundation aims to create a self-sustaining ecosystem where individuals can gain skills, find employment, and contribute to a safer, stronger, and more connected community.
