House robbers stopped in their tracks

Four suspects were arrested in Florida Hills for attempted house robbery.

Four suspects have been arrested for attempted house robbery in Florida Hills yesterday, May 7.

This comes after Help24 Secure officials received a tip that the occupants of a silver Hyundai i20 were on a mission driving from the Roodekrans area to Florida Hills.

Quentin Swart, operations manager of Help24 Secure, confirmed that this incident happened around 15:20 and they managed to take down the suspects on William Nicol Drive.

“The four suspects have been arrested, and the vehicle was impounded because it was a wanted vehicle, and we also opened a case number for the false number plates,” he confirmed.

The team dispatched consisted of the Help24 Secure Tactical Response Unit, the West Rand SAPS K9 Unit, and the Fidelity Business, which assisted with tracking the car with the four suspects.

The suspects had housebreaking tools (hammer, pickaxe head and crowbars), along with hand gloves and masks.
Swart confirmed that the car is in the possession of the police and an investigation is underway.
