According to Beagle Watch’s managing director, André Aiton, the operation began when JMPD’s Vuma Control Room issued an alert for a Hyundai Accent reportedly linked to a house robbery in Randpark Ridge. The Beagle Watch team immediately sprang into action, using CCTV footage to track the vehicle’s movements across the area.
The vehicle was first spotted in Allen’s Nek, but when the team attempted to pull it over, the driver sped off. A tense chase unfolded along Jim Fouché Road and onto Hendrik Potgieter, where the driver made a reckless U-turn and continued towards Clearwater Mall. In a final desperate attempt to flee, the driver tried another U-turn but lost control and crashed.

Beagle Watch officers moved in quickly and managed to arrest all four suspects at the scene. The K9 Unit provided backup during the arrest. Upon inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered implements typically used in house burglaries as well as fake number plates. The suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation and possible linkage to other crimes in the area.
“Our officers responded with speed, precision, and bravery. This successful arrest is a direct result of close co-operation between private security and law enforcement, and we are proud to play a role in making our suburbs safer,” said André, commending the team’s quick response.
