Man arrested and drugs seized in Cosmo City bust
The man was arrested by the Johannesburg Flying Squad for being in possession of hard drugs.
A routine patrol by the Johannesburg Flying Squad led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer in Cosmo City on April 30.
According to spokesperson Raymond Sambo, officers were patrolling the area near the corner of South Africa and Marina Drive when they noticed a man acting suspiciously. Upon spotting the police vehicle, the man fled on foot, prompting officers to give chase.
The man was quickly apprehended and searched. Police discovered a plastic bag in his possession, suspected of containing drugs. The haul included 23 small brown paper packets believed to contain rock cocaine, as well as 17 black plastic packets of nyaope, a highly addictive street drug commonly linked to heroin use.

The man was arrested on charges of possession of drugs and transported to the Cosmo City Police Station, where he remains in custody pending further investigation.
Sambo commended officers for their swift response, adding that police remain committed to tackling drug-related crime in local communities.
