Law enforcement pounces on driver of a stolen car located in Witpoortjie

Quick reaction by JMPD and private security resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

One person was arrested, and a stolen vehicle was recovered on Workers’ Day following a pursuit by law enforcement.

According to Help 24 Secure operations director Quinten Swart, information was received about a possible stolen vehicle moving through the Witpoortjie area.

The information was analysed, and reaction units were deployed to track the car.

JMPD’s Tactical Response Unit and reaction units from Beagle Watch also joined the search, starting at the last known location where the vehicle was spotted.

“After some searching, the car was spotted and forced to a halt,” says Swart.

“Further investigation confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen by its owner at Brixton Police Station.

“Upon searching the car, additional false number plates were discovered.

“The driver was arrested at the scene, and the car was impounded.”
