Wilro Park Lions hosts their induction lunch in style

The club celebrated its members as well as their new president at a grand affair at the Kleine Constantia Venue.

The Lions Club had its induction lunch on July 1.

According to Sandy van Heerden, public relations officer for the Wilro Lions, the event was held at the Kleine Constantia Venue for both the Wilro Park and Lenasia branches, where outgoing president Johan Els showed his appreciation to all the Lions members for their dedicated service to others.

Outgoing president Johan Els handed over the gong and gavel to incoming president Rene Benjamin.

He also awarded Delphine Ferreira the Lion of the Year Award for her commitment to the club and Roleen Hunter the President’s Theme Award for her dedication to the club’s School Books Pay-it-forward as well as other projects.

Sandy added that the event was attended by 27 members and guests and René Benjamin was inducted by council chairperson Bernd Gerhard as the new president for the Wilro Park branch. Three new members, Irene Komichi, Martina Phakgadi, and Morwai Bodibe were also inducted.
