Woman in Prayer group hands out hats to Lebogang Day Care
According to the women of Horison Methodist Church, these hats are knotted at the top rather than sewed, which speaks to the 'invention's' ingenuity, and convenience.
About 15 children from Lebogang Day Care Centre received hand-made hats as part of a recent project of Horison Methodist Church’s Women in Prayer group on July 21. This forms part of their 500 blanket drive initiative.
These efforts are part of the daycare center’s 24-year association with René Rink, who does a lot for the daycare, such as attempting to acquire training for the teachers, monthly shopping, and anything to help them.

The daycare, which is located in an informal settlement in Princess, cares for 42 children; however, only approximately 15 youngsters were present on that day, and the hats were given just in time as Gauteng has been experiencing some really chilly weather lately.

These are hats that have not been made in the traditional manner of sewing but are rather tied together by the fringes of the hats, which is innovative and convenient.
The children were very excited and cheered as the team arrived, which just shows the impact Rink has on them.
The daycare was established in 1989 along with three women who were volunteering. The year 2002 saw a drastic change to the place when long-standing partner Horison Methodist Church took the initiative to upgrade the facilities.
Naomi Kgang from the daycare centre said that they are very grateful for all the work that the women from the church are doing.
