Florida CPF and Sector 2 Crime Forum elections postponed

The CPF received a formal request for the elections to be postponed.

The Florida CPF has announced the postponement of the long-awaited Sector 2 Crime Forum and Florida CPF executive committee elections.

This follows a recent health scare undergone by current CPF chairperson Farhaad Sardiwalla.

According to CPF secretary Shehaam Harris, a formal request was also received from community members for an extension.

“This will allow community members who wish to run for the election adequate time for meaningful engagement and careful consideration of nominees for the Sector 2 and CPF executives,” she says.

“The election is postponed to February, which gives residents three months to consider their nominations.

“We will confirm the exact dates and times, as well as the venues for the meetings, early in the new year.

“The Florida CPF executive appreciates the community’s ongoing commitment to safety, unity, and active participation in local crime prevention initiatives.”

The Sector 2 elections have been postponed on a number of occasions last year, and Harris says they are excited to see the process finally on the road to conclusion.
