Young learners share their hopes and dreams

From reading bedtime stories to tackling big kid math, read what these little ones want to explore in the new grade.

The Grade R learners from Ruimsig Academy are eagerly counting down the days until they officially enter Grade One.

The Roodepoort Northsider visited some soon-to-be Grade One learners to find out what they’re looking forward to the most – from wearing big kid uniforms to learning to read and making new friends.

Phenyo Jantjies said, “I’m very excited, I think it’s going to be a bit complicated but I’m excited for Grade One.”

Hannah Foster said, “I’m excited to go to Grade One to make friends and go to the big side.”

Ezra Mawasha said, “I want to go to Grade One so I can make new friends so that we can play together and it will be fun to learn every day.”

Naledi Tsoanyane said, “I look forward to going to Grade One so that I can make new friends to play with, meet new teachers, and learn new things.”
