New chapter unfolds for Grade Rs

The King's School West Rand Grade Rs share their excitement about going to Grade One.

Grade R learners from The King’s School West Rand are beaming with excitement as they take their first step into what they refer to as “big school”.

The learners have spent the last year learning foundational skills, making friends, and sharpening their young minds. As they bid farewell to Grade R, the Roodepoort Northsider asked them what they were most excited about being in Grade One.

Cally-Jo Schoeman is mostly excited about learning and making new friends in her new class.

Luzuko Twala is fortunate to have an older sister who told her that Grade One would be fun.
“I look forward to the new work we will be learning and I can’t wait to meet my new teacher,” she adds.

Madison Harris added, “I am excited to go to Grade One because I will be learning math and playing skipping rope with my friends.”

Sebastian van Tonder looks forward to playing soccer with the big Grade One boys because soccer is his favourite sport.

Sekakhona Maseko concluded, “I look forward to writing tests, learning and playing soccer with my new friends.”
