Class of 2024 sets the bar high

With outstanding results, these young achievers are ready to conquer the world.

Crawford International is beaming with pride as the Class of 2024 celebrates an extraordinary achievement in their final examinations.

With a stellar 100% pass rate and an impressive 98.75% bachelor’s degree pass, the graduating class has truly proven that hard work and dedication yield outstanding results.

The Roodepoort Northsider visited the school and spoke to some of the matriculants to find out what their plans were.

“I’m incredibly happy with my results. I must say that when I was writing my exams I didn’t know if I would get this mark or if I would get slightly lower. I was a bit nervous to see where I was but in the end, it was an incredible result and I’m grateful for my being able to get this mark. A lot of hard work into it but I can also see that I am a lucky person to be able to achieve this mark, it’s also luck that I have this ability in general,” said Roscoe Botha, an overall top achiever sitting at number one of the Top 10 list with a total of nine IEB distinctions.

Shannén Gumede said, “It’s a good day for me, I am happy with what I got. Do I wish that I could’ve done better? At the end of the day I did as best as I could and now I’m here. I’ve achieved all that I can achieve and I finally passed matric with a bachelor’s degree pass.”

Aedan Yates, who achieved a whopping 11 IEB distinctions, and is number two on the list of top achievers shared his plans, “I’m happy about my results, of course, you’d always want to do more but you can’t be too unhappy with it as well. It was kind of nonsensical to hope for more than what I’ve got today so I’m really happy and I’m looking forward to university.”

“I’m very happy with my results, I think I was happy with the tests and the way everything went out. Matric was such a good experience with lots of exams but I think I am happy about where I ended.”

Zwhivhuya Maanda said, “I would say that my results were very unexpected to me because I didn’t expect to achieve at that level in a sense. I’m very proud of myself, especially being that in my family I was the first to get five distinctions so it made me even more proud of myself that I was able to make everyone else around me proud.”
